Bergeron Winery
Tue, 08/09/2016 - 11:27am
Happy Camper Redwood Tours is proud to partner with Bergeron Winery every chance we get.  They are located right by the Lighthouse cafe in Trinidad.  Order your food at the Lighthouse then step over for a glass (or two!) of delightful Bergeron wine until your food is delivered to you at the tasting room.  It’s one of Trinidad’s best kept secrets!
Think Twice Before You Hug a Tree
Tue, 08/09/2016 - 11:26am
Happy Camper Redwood Tours had the pleasure of exploring the Redwoods with Ernest from Mississippi and a couple from central California considering a move north.  We had a terrific walk in the Redwoods where Tammy felt compelled to hug an enormous Redwood tree.  Too bad that she waded through an enormous patch of poison oak to fulfill her fantasy!  We made a quick stop back at their camp so she could wash with the magic soap and change her clothes.  We never did hear whether or not Tammy survived the ordeal but now we know to show our hikers exactly what Poison Oak looks like.  We enjoyed a picnic and a beautiful hike out at the coast before we had to get Ernest back to the big trees.  We hope to see Ernest again.

Got Grandkids
Tue, 08/09/2016 - 11:22am
Our dear friends have their six grandkids for a week of fun fun ‘Kamp Kiki’ each summer.  This year they honored HCRT by culminating their week with us for a custom tour.  We visited the Loleta Cheese Factory, Blue Ox Millworks, my favorite Arcata playground, Fire and Light and a picnic lunch at the Mad River Fish Hatchery.  We had a few more tricks up our sleeve on the way home but two of the kids (and one of the grandparents!) were snoozing so we headed straight for the barn.

The Ferndale Bottoms
Tue, 08/09/2016 - 11:19am
Happy Camper Redwood Tours recently had the pleasure of being toured around the new Eel River Estuary Preserve with the very kind and knowledgable Alex and his pooch, Luna.  The Preserve, which is located between the Victorian Village of Ferndale and the Pacific Ocean is not currently open to the public though private tours can be arranged.  Happy Camper Redwood Tours would thrill to visit anytime!

Love Sweet Love
Tue, 08/09/2016 - 11:13am
We love to get dressed up and participate as part of the team for all kinds of weddings.  Our passenger wagon, Betty Jane, gets spiffed up and festively outfitted with fresh flowers.  The fun begins when total strangers meet—“Does anyone know how to tie a tie?”  She sure did!
